[0:18] * xemdetia (xemdetia@nat/ibm/x-vbusrmolivjvtpqf) Quit (Ping timeout: 260 seconds)
[0:22] <jimbaker> fwierzbicki, through sat morning
[0:56] <pr3d4t0r> Hej.
[0:56] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Yo'.
[2:14] <jimbaker> pr3d4t0r, are you in the bay area these days?
[2:20] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Yeah.
[2:20] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: I'm at home right now, looking at the skyline.
[2:21] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Looking for a larger place to live, so if you know of anything... :)
[2:22] <jimbaker> pr3d4t0r, i'm just an occasional visitor here, but i'm actually here twice this month (second time because of javaone)
[2:32] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Heh.
[2:32] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: That's good.
[2:32] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: I might be around for JavaOne.
[2:32] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Working on that. I don't care for that conference because it's local ;)
[2:34] <jimbaker> pr3d4t0r, i rather enjoyed going to europython, so consider that a reasonable nonlocal alternative for the future :)
[2:34] <jimbaker> https://oracleus.activeevents.com/2014/connect/sessionDetail.ww?SESSION_ID=6559 is the session we are doing
[2:41] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: I forgot to submit to pycon.fi on time :(
[2:41] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Otherwise I'd be there :)
[2:41] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Oh, nice session!
[2:41] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: That looks interesting.
[2:42] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Are you here right now, or back for JavaOne?
[2:43] <jimbaker> pr3d4t0r, i'm here in san francisco (2nd & folsom) this week for working with my team at rackspace. usually i work from home in boulder
[2:43] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Heh.
[2:43] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: I'm going for sushi tomorrow night with a friend, if you care to join us.
[2:43] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Java dude.
[2:45] <jimbaker> pr3d4t0r, that might just work. there's also a pydata event at yelp which looks good, but i can certainly do later sushi
[2:45] <jimbaker> http://www.meetup.com/sfpython/events/203377602/
[2:46] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Interesting.
[2:47] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Nah, won't work. Too late in the day.
[2:47] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: The sushi bar closes at 2100 for new patrons, and 2130 for everyone.
[2:47] <pr3d4t0r> jimbaker: Next time :)
[2:49] <jimbaker> i could make the first talk (and mingle, my real goal), then go for sushi approx at 8, and make this selective sushi bar. would that work? also python + java in one day. my life :)
[2:57] <jimbaker> brb

[11:25] <acharis> jimbaker, thanks for fix proposal and workaround. agronholm, thanks for recognizing that

[12:40] <acharis> so i'm seeing comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.jython.devel/6139 and wondering about beta4. any ideas on when that will drop? updated timeline?

[16:15] <jimbaker> acharis, hmmm, yes, this is something that obviously has slipped as we determined just how much scope beta 4 covered
[16:16] <jimbaker> among other things, i still plan to ensure that ensurepip and venv are available, but i haven't started work on this functionality yet
[16:17] <jimbaker> probably the one remaining and annoying piece is getting all the test_import tests to pass, which is probably blocking twisted
[16:17] <jimbaker> and should work regardless
[16:22] <jimbaker> and i nearly forgot - site-packages support for singlejar. that's also sort of tricky, although i did spend some time on a possible fork earlier this summer
[16:23] <jimbaker> acharis, i will take a look at putting together a triage list now that we have made some substantial progress
[17:16] <acharis> jimbaker, alright. it's great that we have a workaround though. thanks for that. (and the workaround does, in fact, work in my application as well as in the test case attached to the bug)
[17:16] <acharis> signing out, thanks all
