[19:50] <DRayX> Question, what is up with the regex stuff? I keep getting this weird ('unsupported operand', 'at') thing, and when I looked around online, it looks like re has to imported in the same thread it is used in. Is there any way to work around this issue?
[20:14] <agronholm> DRayX: imported in the same thread? that's utter BS
[20:15] <agronholm> where did you read that?

[20:45] <DRayX> agronholm: This mailing thread was the only thing I could find that was even close: http://osdir.com/ml/java.grinder.user/2003-07/msg00030.html
[20:46] <agronholm> that's a very old post
[20:46] <agronholm> like 9 years old
[20:47] <agronholm> DRayX: anyway, what gives you the "unsupported operand" error?
[20:47] <DRayX> Ya, but like I said it was the only thing that even resembled my issue, and when I put import re statements right before the calls, the issue went away
[20:47] <DRayX> re.compile(r'^db:.')
[20:48] <agronholm> can you reproduce that in a standalone script?
[20:48] <DRayX> Oh, hold up, I may have been looking at the wrong peice of code
[20:48] <agronholm> ...?
[20:49] <DRayX> Nope, that was the correctline
[20:49] <DRayX> Let me see if I can make a simple Java app that will recreate it
[20:50] <agronholm> Java?
[20:50] <DRayX> Ya, so the issue seems to be when re is called from a different java thread than the one that imported it
[20:51] <agronholm> so why would you have to involve java in this?
[20:51] <DRayX> I figured I should create a new thread in Java instead of in Jython to more closely match the environment in question
[20:52] <agronholm> but Jython Threads are java threads too
[20:55] <DRayX> But does the Jython threading library do any other initialization when it creates a thread?
[20:56] <agronholm> most likely it does
[20:58] <DRayX> So when I did it with a thread created using threading.Thread, it seemed to work fine, still setting up Java version
[21:07] <pjenvey> fwierzbicki - don't worry too much about having multiple tags, hg always uses the latest. it has some way of resolving all the tags files across branches too but it usually just works
[21:07] <fwierzbicki> ah ok :)
[21:07] <pjenvey> i remember seeing we had a few multiple tags in there after the svn conversion, which just reflected us retagging stuff
[21:07] <fwierzbicki> I am terrible at merging local branches together in hg and I managed to confuse myself

[23:50] <varialus> Is there a convention to where a C source file would go within the Jython source if I was accessing it using JNI?
[23:51] <agronholm> not that I'm aware
[23:52] <varialus> I'm calling a java class and getting a java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError exception. I'm just trying to figure out how to resolve it.
