[17:57] <Glycan> Hello
[17:58] <Glycan> Who's here?
[17:58] <Glycan> I need help with compiling to java
[17:58] <Glycan> I can do that with jythonc, right?
[18:06] <luizribeiro> if you're still using jython 2.2
[18:09] <luizribeiro> (jython 2.5 does not have jythonc anymore)
[18:18] * lopex (~lopx@84-10-213-252.dynamic.chello.pl) has joined #jython

[20:53] <luizribeiro> Glycan: never heard about bukkit, sorry
[20:54] <luizribeiro> abki|home: AFAIK, it's used for operations between classes that derive from one of the builtin types
[20:55] <luizribeiro> abki|home: for example, if you have a class that extends the set builtin type (PySet)
[20:56] <luizribeiro> abki|home: if you have two instances of your class, say A and B. once you do something like A + B, the PySet implementation of __add__ will instantiate a new PySetDerived object, which wraps the correct PyType for your custom class that extends set and the newly created object.
[21:02] <abki|home> But why does it exists, I mean, couldn't PySet do the job ? I don't understand the difference between the two PySet & PySetDerived
[21:09] * wainersm (~wainersm@189.111.88.178) Quit (Quit: Ex-Chat)
[21:12] <luizribeiro> abki|home: PySetDerived fakes itself, as if PySetDerived objects were from the derived class, instead of PySetDerived
[21:12] <luizribeiro> so if you override methods from PySet on your derived class, the correct methods are called (those you've coded yourself)
[21:15] <abki|home> is it because of the algorithme of __getattribute__ that you have to do something like this ?
