[11:32] <topi`> time to break the silence here.
[11:33] <topi`> jimbaker: I got this idea of writing a tutorial on how to write modules in Python, that can be integrated to your run-of-the-mill Java project, using Spring or whatever
[11:34] <topi`> it would be the holy grail of Java Shops to allow smart people to use smart languages like Python to produce modules (with a clear API) that those java jockeys can then use from their modules.
[11:34] <topi`> I bet this is already being done in the JRuby camp.
[11:39] <topi`> jimbaker: but I need your help! doing stuff with clamp is not for the faint of the heart - yet

[13:18] <jimbaker> topi`, sounds like a great plan! also this will be a great motivation to get the annotation integration developed
[13:19] <jimbaker> i'm about to go running, but we can talk more when i get back

[16:03] <jimbaker> topi`, sorry, forgot to come back to this conversation earlier. (good trail run however)
[16:04] <jimbaker> topi`, you have probably seen hellowsgi (https://github.com/jimbaker/hellowsgi) and fireside is a good example of a real clamped application
[16:04] <jimbaker> while still being very simple
[16:05] <jimbaker> in particular, how easy it can be https://github.com/jythontools/fireside/blob/master/fireside/servlet.py#L30
[16:06] <jimbaker> which can then be referenced directly by web.xml for a servlet - again in the hellowsgi README - <servlet-class>org.python.tools.fireside.servlet.WSGIServlet</servlet-class>
[16:09] <topi`> maybe fireside could be used as an example of how to clamp things - showing the process step by step
[16:10] <topi`> jimbaker: what I liked about fireside, is that I just followed the simple instructions and it worked the first time (which is highly unusual :)
[16:10] <jimbaker> topi`, good to hear about fireside working that way for you!
[16:12] <jimbaker> also hellowsgi/fireside is a good tutorial example - it shows that clamping can be very simple
[16:13] <jimbaker> and then we can discuss other ways of clamping that integrate w/ more of the java ecosystem, including the yet to be written, but soon will be, support for annotations
[16:13] <jimbaker> (i have a deadline of june 8 for the dynamic language symposium at splash in portland in october... so that's when it will be available at the latest ;)

[19:04] <jimbaker> agronholm, topi`, how close are you to helsinki? i'm speaking at http://2014.33degree.org/ in krakow (june 9-11) and it seems like an easy flight
[19:06] <jimbaker> i will also be at europython in berlin a month later (july 21-27), but probably will combine that with a trip to zurich
